Peyto Lake Viewpoint in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. It's a short hike from the parking lot at the highest point of the Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park to Peyto Lake Viewpoint. The mountain on the other side of the lake is the Caldron Peak, a 2911 m high peak of the Waputik mountain range. Peyto Lake is fed by Peyto Creek, which brings water from Caldron Lake and Peyto Glacier. The water of the glacier contains floating rock particles that give the lake its turquoise color. The valley with the thunderstorm in the background is the Mistaya River valley. Mistaya River originates in Peyto Lake and later merges into the North Saskatchewan River. The image is a cylindrical panorama composed of 5 wide-angle photos.
